How games enrich the mind

When politicians and other authorities need a scapegoat for the problems afflicting today’s youth, video games offer a dependable one-two punch. If you give games a quick glance, they can come off as violent time-wasters that keep children anchored on the couch while they’re fed a steady stream of mind-emptying trash.

Going a little more in-depth with games reveals that they can actually be extremely beneficial for the body, with titles such as Wii Fit, and the upcoming EA Sports Active offering full exercise regimes. A lesser known, though gradually accepted fact, is that games can similarly tone the mind and even the imagination, offering mental growth for kids of all ages and ability.  Read more.
